LFTL National Workshop Planner_extended

SDI is currently working on a collaborative project with the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) titled “Learning from the Land: a Cross-Cultural Partnership in Forest Stewardship Education for Climate Change Adaptation in the Northern Forest Region”. The project is designed to develop and implement a thematically coherent set of forest and climate science education activities, based on innovative partnerships, enhanced curriculum and experiential learning opportunities, to increase recruitment, retention and success of Native American students in the natural resource sciences, with an emphasis on forest stewardship. One student intern will assist in setting up the 2016 National Workshop.

POSOH Sustainability Planner_extended

A student internship opportunity is being offered through the CMN SDI Placed-Based Opportunities for Sustainable Outcomes and High Hopes (POSOH) project to work on coordinating, organizing, and implementing sustainability education opportunities in the region. The POSOH project is intended to create opportunities for learners to develop understandings, knowledge, and skills in place-based concepts founded in science and culture, using sustainable education strategies. The student intern will assist with planning and logistics of the high school Sustainability Leadership Cohort and also serve as a mentor during the spring and summer activities.
