Julia Wiebe is the current American Indian Higher Education Consortium (AIHEC) AmeriCorps VISTA worker at the College of Menominee Nation Sustainable Development Institute. Continuing the work of previous AmeriCorps Volunteer Greg Gauthier, Julia’s projects focus on increasing awareness and community engagement on climate change issues and supporting the work being done at the SDI. Her service term begin in August of 2018 and goes through August of 2019.

Julia received her B.A. in International Studies with emphasis in Latin American and Peace and Conflict from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio in May of 2018. Originally from West Bend, WI, Julia is happy to be returning to her Wisconsin roots for her year of service. After her service term, she hopes to continue her education in graduate school. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, knitting, and baking.
