The Condit Tree Census Protocol was developed by Dr. Richard Condit as a method of consistently and accurately measuring tree growth on permanent forest plots. This protocol was adapted to the Menominee forest in 2013 and this Forest Research plot behind the College of Menominee Nation was established using that adapted protocol. This Forest research plot is monitored and maintained by the Sustainability Development institute and the Center for First Americans Forestlands.

Basic Procedure for a Tree Re-census

2. Check Tree Tag

3. Identify Tree Species

4. Measure Tree

5. Record Data

6. Verify Location of Mapped Tree

7. Scan Area for New Recruit Trees
