The Sustainable Development Institute is facilitating action research projects led by The 2013 Sustainability Leadership Cohort.
The research projects
give students the opportunity to research a topic they find interesting and valuable in the community and get actively involved in this topic. Students are learning valuable research skills and are working toward not only collecting and sharing information, but also implementing their plans and making positive change in their community.
June 26-28 2013, SDI hosted a film production workshop. Led by Reynaldo Morales from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, the Sustainability Leadership Cohort was introduced to the world of film-making. Students have the option to produce mini-documentaries to tell the story of their action-research projects and share community news, opinions, and stories.and valuable in the community and get actively involved
in this topic.

This unique project is led by SDI Education Coordinator Kate Flick and funded through P.O.S.O.H., a USDA grant which builds leadership skills and promotes higher education for young people. For more information on the projects, read this blog post by
SDI intern Ella Keenan, or contact Kate Flick at 715-799-6226 ext. 3243.
