Asssociation of Educators in Sustainable Development

The Chartering Session of the Association of Educators in Sustainable Development was held at the College of Menominee Nation, Keshena Wisconsin on June 29 and 30, 2005.

This past year a new United Nations initiative of Education for Sustainable Development was inaugurated. Among post-secondary institution of higher education dedicated to student preparation in this important endeavor, there is currently no formalized association of colleges and universities devoted exclusively to address how best to respond to the Decade of Education for Sustainable Development articulated by the United Nations Educational, Scientific & Cultural Organization (UNESCO), collaborate and network among ourselves, or to advance the cause of global sustainable development through higher education.

College of Menominee Nation, Keshena, Wisconsin, United States and Galen University, San Ignacio, Cayo, Belize have agreed to collaborate in hosting a founding forum of colleges and universities for the purpose of establishing an international association of post-secondary institutions dedicated to Education for Sustainable Development, and we would like to invite your institution to join.
