Invasive Species and Emerald Ash Borer Workshop

College of Menominee Nation Sustainable Development Institute and USDA Forest Service Partnership - Center for First Americans Forestlands - invites you to a workshop on Invasive Species with an emphasis on the Emerald Ash Borer.
Goal of the Workshop
To provide information on invasive species biology and to facilitate discussions about Emerald Ash Borer management before it spreads further. These discussions could lay groundwork for individual tribal Emerald Ash Borer management plans and facilitate coordination with other tribes, state and federal agencies.
Presentations by Tribal, State, and Federal Agencies
- Introduction to invasive species biology and the global nature of the problem
- Emerald Ash Borer
- Introduction, biology, and impact to forest resources
- Management strategies
- Experiences in Michigan and Ontario, Canada
- Planning for Emerald Ash Borer in Wisconsin
- Collaborative exercise to discuss Emerald Ash Borer management issues and responses
Who Should Attend?
- Tribal forest managers, Tribal governments, and interested community members
- Federal agencies including BIA, Forest Service, and APHIS
- State agencies including WI DNR, WI Department of Agriculture
