Dr. William VanLopik

Dr. William Van Lopik began work at CMN in July, 2002. He has a joint appointment as the Academic Program Director for the Sustainable Development Institute and as a part-time CMN faculty member.  Dr. Van Lopik received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, MI. He earned his Master of Arts degree in Geography from Western Michigan University.  After working for several years in Central America for a non-profit international development organization, he returned to school and completed a Master of Arts degree in Human Resource Leadership from Azusa Pacific University and a Ph.D. in Resource Development from Michigan State University.

Dr. Van Lopik is actively involved in Central American issues and periodically teaches a class in development in Belize. In addition, he serves on the board of directors for the organization CRISPAZ and has a diverse background in working with developmentally disabled adults, teaching Spanish school children and working as a geography instructor.
