Dr. Donald Sweet
Food Science and Nutritionist Specialist
Dr. Donald Sweet joined the CMN faculty in October, 2002. He received his Bachelor of Science and Ph.D. in Nutrition (biochemistry emphasis) from the University of Minnesota.
Since 1997, Dr. Sweet has taught anatomy & physiology, pathology, and nutrition as a teaching assistant and adjunct faculty member at the University of Minnesota and Rasmussen College. During that time he conducted research involving the neural regulation of appetite and obesity.
Currently, Dr. Sweet is developing nutrition and biochemistry curricula, with the goal of establishing a nutrition major at College of Menominee Nation as part of the Woodlands Wisdom Confederation initiative designed to address obesity- and diabetes-related diseases in Native American communities.
