Dale Kakak
Communication & Project Specialist

Dale Kakkak is an enrolled member of the Menominee Nation. Dale earned his BA in Jounalism in 1988 from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities. Over the years he has traveled Native America reporting on the broad band of contemporary Native issues. His work also includes photography for two childrens books for Lerner Publication's series on Native Americans - We Are Still Here.  He was a recipient of a 1993 University of Minnesota/McKnight Foundation Photography Fellowship to work on a series of portraits of Native People. In 1994 he received the Native American Journalist Association award for best photo-documentary for his work on the Zaptista struggle in Chiapas, Mexico.
